Strider
His registered name is Aragorn, but he’s Strider to his friends. Strider is a Warlander, a relatively new breed consisting of a cross between a Friesian and an Andalusian. Born in 2003, he has the honor of being one of the first crop from Immortal Farms; his daddy was none other than the late Galahad du Lac. His arena debut in 2007 came a bit early—most warhorses can’t face the lists until they’re at least six—but he rose to the challenge, and rapidly became an old hand, charging all comers with confidence and a real showman’s flair. Blessed by a level-headed Friesian temperament but with a dash of that Andalusian fire and spice, Strider is a joy to work with, popular among the Knights for his particular blend of amiability and eagerness. Whether he’s sweeping Sir Charles to victory, doing his best to keep the wicked Karl Grossne upright and on board, or carrying one of his owner's friends, Strider is a horse to admire. He lives at Immortal farms with proud owner Chuck Davenport, Coni, and a whole herd of other horses.
